Pregnancy & Birth Support

  • Pregnancy and birth bring forth a myriad of emotions and challenges, and my goal is to be your trusted ally in navigating this unique experience. As your due date range approaches, preparing for birth and the postpartum period becomes a focal point.

Some concerns you might experience during this time include:

    • your physical body changing rapidly

    • worrying about your growing fetus/baby

    • changes in your relationships

    • communication challenges with co-parent

    • changes in sexual desire

    • preparing for labor and birth and creating a birth plan

    • preparing for infant bonding and parenting

    • postpartum anticipation and creating a support plan

    • identity shifts within self, career and relationships

    • mood fluctuations due to hormones

    • not being able to do things you used to

    • dealing with unsolicited advice

  • Pregnancy can be a time of immense joy and excitement, but it can also bring forth unexpected challenges and uncertainties. I offer tailored support to help you process any fears or anxieties about labor, childbirth, and the transition into parenthood. We will work collaboratively to explore your birth preferences, prepare for the postpartum period, and create a nurturing and supportive environment for the arrival of your baby/ies.

  • My therapeutic support for pregnancy and birth is rooted in a holistic and empathetic approach. I recognize that each pregnancy journey is as unique as the individual experiencing it. Having experienced pregnancy and a traumatic birth myself, I understand firsthand the emotional complexities and needs that arise during this time. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can freely express your innermost worries and sense of self. My therapeutic approach is designed to help you find emotional balance, build coping strategies, and develop self-compassion as you navigate the intricacies of pregnancy and childbirth.

  • Pregnancy and childbirth are transformative experiences for both the birthing individual and their partner/s. I provide couples therapy and offer a safe space for partners to express their own emotions, concerns, values and expectations. Building strong emotional connections and understanding within the family unit is essential during this time of change, and I am here to facilitate open communication and readiness.

When working with couples, I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and The Gottman Method to support increased understanding and the development of sustainable and effective communication skills.
